Safe House Exteriors uses dishonest practices to get business

Safe House Representative came to my door and said there was hail damage in the area and they wanted to get on my roof to check it out to see if there was damage to try to get our insurance company to cover a new roof. I agreed and he insisted that there was a lot of damage. I questioned him on this as I did not want to go through the whole claim processes if it was not legitimate. He again insisted there was a lot of damage. He also claimed it was no risk to me to just file a claim. I filed the claim and when the insurance representative came out he took pictures and clearly there was no hail damage. The Safe House Rep. gave me some false explanation as to why there wasn't enough damage when he said there was and left before the insurance agent met with me and explained the reality of the situation. In the end there was no damage to the roof. There was however some hail dings to a few aluminum vents on the roof that the agent had to write up and give an estimate for since it was legitimate damage from hail. They amounted to about $500. Since my deductible is $1000 I received no money from the insurance company and in the future they will not replace them if they can see old damage since they wrote a claim and I was responsible to cover those. So Safe House essentially costed me $500 and lied to my face during the whole process. They are completely unethical, weaving a string of lies to convince you to file a claim to see if they get lucky enough to get some business out of it.

I am suing this client that is invited you to court. Not the other way around. Fell free to come but it is not open Mic in a civil case which Nicholas Lozier has no clue what is in store.

My name is Chris garland Owner of Safe House Exteriors. I’m so sorry that the above homeowner is upset. We are in a customer service business and we strive to meet the needs of all of our customers. As described above things happen beyond our control, and when someone is angry, sometimes they don’t know who to blame. I truly respect the above homeowner’s concerns, but I believe this complaint should truly be made toward the insurance company, that identified hail damage, but under estimated that damage in order to avoid paying out a claim.

It is unfortunate that how we assess the damage on a home and an insurance company assesses damage is different. It should be in an insurance company’s best interest to keep your home in the best possible condition. However, insurance companies, like most big businesses exist for profit and do not want to pay out if they don’t have to. I don’t believe individual insurance men or adjusters are malicious, I just believe their standards for determining hail damage are different than ours. In a few instances, like the one described in this complaint, we don’t see eye to eye, yet, that doesn’t make us wrong. In fact, the insurance adjuster found damage on the roof, but felt that the cost to repair it was only $500. I’m truly apologetic for this homeowner’s frustration. I would be incredibly angry with my insurance company as well. To find damage on my roof from hail, but to write up the damages in a way that my insurance essentially doesn’t cover it is exceedingly disappointing. Why do we continue to pay premiums month after month when in the end we see nothing but a bill? Do you remember Katrina? All those poor victims of a hurricane and flooding spent years fighting with their insurance companies because they couldn’t prove whether the damages were from the flooding or the hurricane and the insurance companies were going to do everything they could to not pay for new homes regardless of how much money they collected from monthly premiums.

Please keep in mind, there is no advantage for us to identify damage that doesn’t exist. Our work is always reviewed by an insurance adjuster, when you know that you are double checked every time, there is no incentive to lie or find damage that doesn’t exist. Although, we’ve never encountered the above outlined facts where such nominal damage was identified by the insurance adjuster, it is truly unfortunate that this discrepancy happened with us and this particular insurance company. I truly hope this homeowner thinks twice about what company he’s sending his premiums too, and if he would like some referrals for insurance companies that want to take care of their customers and their homes, we would be happy to provide a list.

I just ran across this with my neighbor while doing research on Safe House Exteriors and I have to take up for these guys. They built my roof about two months ago and they are about to start my neighbors next week.

When the represenative came to my door they told me that hail had been in the area and they could potentially help me out with it and work with the adjuster to show the damaged areas. They did tell me that all insurance companies are different and some get approved while others get denied. I feel that they were very honest with me, they showed me their license and insurances and even gave me references. They have offered time and time again to help with anything they can and stop by often to make sure that I am happy.

I have to say that they made me feel very comfortable during the entire process. I highly recommend Safe House Exteriors and when I called their references it was obvious that they were happy too.
